At the 44th Athletissima, IAAF Diamond League meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, the 1500m had a top-quality field of middle-distance runners, and only one man had the ability and speed-of-foot to defeat Jakob Ingebrigtsen.
Despite another beating, Jakob did have the satisfaction of trimming his personal best, and setting new area and national under-19/junior records. Finishing almost 2 seconds behind Timothy Cheruiyot of Kenya, Jakob was bravely resolute in holding off an illustrious band of runners, clocking a time of 3:30.16, edging older brother Filip by 0.66 seconds. No doubt they spent time afterwards analysing the race, and their own performances!
