• One young man to WATCH!

18 April at 16:37 from atlas

He first came into the spotlight when he broke Usain Bolt's World under-18 best of 20.13, running 20.11 on 31st May 2021. Less than a month later he really hit his stride, by slicing seconds off that mark, with 20.04, 19.88 and 19.84 (all World bests) over the three days of Olympic Trials, 25-27 June.

He finished 3rd, securing his place in the American team for Tokyo, where he fought his way through qualifications to place 4th in the 200m Final!

And just in case you think that he might not shape up for the World Champs in less than 3 months, just check out his sparkling performance in the 100m at the Tom Jones Invitational in Gainesville two days ago - a huge PB of 10.04. That performance significantly improved his previous best of 10.16, and was achieved in defeating Noah Lyles, the reigning Olympic 200m bronze medallist.

Check out the YouTube video of this race.

It's a mere 0.07 seconds slower than the World under-20 Record...
