Between 15-18 July we were treated to one outstanding performance after another at the European under-20 age-group Champs in the Estonian capital (they had already hosted the under-23s a week earlier)..
Weather-wise most of the 8 days were fine, albeit windy on occasions
(see the under-20 women's Long Jump series in the Downloads for YOU section).
There were favourites winning as were expected, along with multiple disappointments. Surprises popped up every day, which is what I love about our Sport!
Having been a T&F aficionado most of my life, enjoying two Olympics, one World Juniors, two Commonwealth Games, one European Champs, and a host of other elite meetings, it's fun to consult my 'crystal ball'.
My personal predictions for future stardom arising out of these two meetings go like this (fortunately no-one will punish me if I get it wrong). -
Rhasidat Adeleke, Kornelia Lesiewicz, Greta Varga, Ditaji Kambundji, Maja Åskag, Saga Vanninen; Edward Faulds, Nicholas Griggs, Sasha Zhoya (definitely), Anthony Ammirati, Gabriel Wallmark, Mykolas Alekna.
And then there are the best from Ukraine Yaroslava Mahuchikh (naturally) and Myhaylo Kokhan (of course!) - Tokyo may provide them with medals...
